Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

CAAD9 Frame weight?

Does anyone have a good idea as to the weight of one of these? Preferably in sizes 58/56. WeightWeenies has the '06 CAAD8 Optimo in 58cm listed as about 2.8lbs(1280g). Was wondering if anyone had the 07 weight of a CAAD9 Optimo.

Thanks.

Bikes: Ebay Bikes... =)

I have a caad9, I originally bought a 56 but the stretch was not comfy for me... I swapped it for a 54 and I am golden now =)

Every time I read that article I wig out because the BB is stiffer than a Cervelo R3 !!

So around 3lbs for a 58cm seems about right. Thanks guys.

I've heard great things about this frame, and I know someone interested in building up a bike(while also having around 2k to build up a bicycle). He's a bit larger than me at 6'1'', 180lbs, so I was wanting something really stiff but lightweight.
Now deciding between this and the Systemsix? blargh.

I am 300 and this is a very stiff bike. There is absolutely no flex that I can feel in the frame which is especially nice when I am on the trainer.

Yeah, right now it's a decision between the SystemSix and the CAAD9 Optimo1. It depends on what deals arise; I've heard great things about both frames.
