Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A new incarnation of my ride (PICTURES!)

I thought I'd post some recent pictures of my bike. I've updated a few components worth photographing.

The set-up:
Lapierre, Scandium, Francaise Des Jeux Team Edition, 1050g
Look carbon fork w/al steerer, 450g
Thomson Masterpiece Seatpost 31.6, 170g
Thomson x2 stem, 110, 140g
Specialized Toupe Gel Saddle
Chorus Ergopower, Cranks, FD + RD, Hubs. Record BB and Headset.
Ritchey WCS Aluminum Bars, 42
Fizik Tape
Training Wheels: Chorus hubs on champion spokes, velocity deep-v rims, 32°. SEE: Bomb proof training wheels
Tires, Maxxis Refuse (really solid after thousands of miles. only 2 flats)
Bottle Cages: New Ultimate, 13g

I've added some custom parts from my LBS who happens to be a pretty exotic retailer of some sweet light-weight shwag.

Tuned components:
rear derailleur: rebuilt with KCNC ceramic pulleys, blue anodized with gold nuts
rear derailleur: kronos pivot bolt, 6g
Shifters: Far and Near replacement hoods, blue of course

Friggin' love it! Sharp as hell!

Was looking at the 2009 Lapierres and they look like crap (my opinion of course).

There's a mosquito on your left shifter hood. Be careful...

WOW, nice looking bike, clean and simple. I love how your blue ergo hoods match with the blue decal.
Did you capture a mosquito on the left shifter hood in the 2nd picture?

The matching blue spacer on the uncut steer tube really ties it all together.

I like the full campy setup and the giant Shimano decal on the top tube.

PS - sweet seatpost.

great job on the build, the silver stem and seatpost really brought out the bike. You sir have inspired me to go silver on my next build.
