Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cycling, the cure for hangovers!

I stayed out later than I wanted to last night and drank more than I should have. After getting 4 hours of sleep I woke up with a fairly intense hangover, and it was time to ride. My stomach was a little queasy and all it could handle was a little water. I met up with the group a little late and not feeling very well. After 3-4 miles and a mini Clif bar, I felt like a million bucks. It was great. I rode 38 miles (at a pretty good clip) and drank a bottle of Gatorade and ate a total of 3 mini Clif bars. That was the quickest I ever got over a hang over that bad. Anyone else have this experience?

Cycling usually cures my hangovers... After a few miles I'm usually good.

If I've tied one on Friday night, a Sat AM ride generally makes me feel better if I'm rough around the edges. I'm guessing it's because the blood gets flowing and oxygenated ?

Jumping my wife also helps.

Physical activity is a tried and true method, if you can get going, and it's healthier than the "bacon, eggs, and cheese on a roll" method.

Probably has something to do with getting your metabolism pumping, burning out toxins, and releasing endorphins.
