Ok deal on 2008 Roubaix?

The owner of my LBS agreed to sell me a brand new 08 Roubaix Elite Triple for $1900 or $1200 for just the frame + fork + seatpost.

Is it a decent deal, and how much can I expect to talk him down (if any)?

I think the carbon frame on the roubaix looks soo nice, and it will also be easier on my back due to the upright position.

I was thinking of taking the owner up on the latter option (frame, fork, and seatpost) and ordering a dura ace group from CCC or PBK to build my own bike. Is this the way you guys would go?

I'd appreciate comments and suggestions.

Thanks!

Paid $1600 for mine(whole bike), course knowing the owner helps.

Great, maybe I can talk him down a bit. I assume you have the 08 model?

yes I do,carbon with silver/white paint job. You should be able to talk him down, it is an 08 afterall.

1200 seems like a lot

You can get a way better frameset for $1200.

I just bought the comp for 1999

Agree, you should be looking at a Roubaix Comp for that price on an 08....

Define "better".

Also which frames do you recommend?
