okey to ride time vxrs on trainners?
The only road bike I have now is the vxrs, and I hope to carry on my trainning in busy school days. I have a set of mavic Ak wheels that is cheap enough for trainning, but the cassette are SRAM's. So I'm using record systems with this wheel. It works but not very soomth. The other one I get is the cannondale slice with a HED STINGER 50 I bought, shimano system dont work with sram at all. I tried the carbon wheels on trainners but it surely break my heart.
So which one is cheaper to destroy? Time frame, record chain, hed wheels.....
Cant afford to buy a new trainning bike, and the shop here dont sell campy hubs for mavic AK wheel.

Wow, this thread has so much FAIL I don't know where to start. First, SRAM is compatible with Shimano wheels. Second, carbon wheels on a trainer is fine, but if you are going to be on the trainer a lot use a cheap tire. Finally, I can't imagine why you would think you would destroy a Time frame on a trainer.

I understand, but I tried the sram on both shimano and campy, I find it works smooth only on some gears on Campy, but for shimano, not smooth at all. Readjust the rear dialer may make it work good on slice, but I cant afford to adjust them every time I change the wheels.
It's not that seriouse to say 'destory', but I think trainner is a harsh place for bikes when I see the chainstays been compressed while I'm fixing the bike on it.

SRAM is compatible with Shimano, not campy, as long as the number of cogs on the cassette is the same. I don't completely understand, does the Time have Record and the Cannondale as Shimano? Are they all 10 speed?

Ya, campy 08'record is on time and slice have shimano 5600. I tried the Ak wheel on both of them and the fact is campy works better.
I'll use shamal ultra then with just a cheap tire. That would be the solution.
Thanks guys~!
