Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe you could ride to school "the long way", although you'd still end up at home and walk to class.

I don't live far from work at all (walking it takes just 20 minutes; it's 7 by bike), so I have to go out and find miles on purpose. I need to figure out how much time I can spend riding if I want to do some before work, though -- the last time I tried, I was nearly late.
I live a mile and a half from work but somehow my commute seems to always take at least an hour. I don't know how that happens

Maybe I'll take the long way haha. I'll try switching things up when I ride though, that way it doesn't get too repetitive.

I have 3 primary routes that I take to work, not counting the direct route. Each primary route has several variations as well. Some are more suited to recovery days and some are better for punishing myself

And constantly taking showers and changing clothes is the worst part of multiple rides... it's the worst on the days I also ride at lunch...

no, i have several. but i'd rather go through 1 pair / 1 extra shower a day than 2 (say with 1 longer ride vs 2 shorter ones).

Hang your shorts up to dry after ride 1, HTFU and wear them again for ride 2. You're not going to get crotch rot if you wear one pair of shorts twice in the same day. Just put 'em in the laundry at the end of the day. Geez, some of you weenies sure are delicate.

i don't think you've seen me sweat. delicate isn't quite the word.

htfu, ride harder and longer during your first ride...and you won't have to do it again later on. :-)
