Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Look for my Tarmac?

Its hard to tell, but the cable housing is actually chrome. It has a good shine to it.

between the stickers on the frame and that bartape that is some scary ****. The rest is a nice bike but the bar tape is making it look really bad.

I'd either go all white, all black, or all blue. But personally I think all black would add that "stealthy look." But the current tape setup just looks like a circus.

I hate to be mean but that tape ruins it for me. Otherwise nice.

I thought you had pink tape. This is uglier.

Aren't you glad you posted?

I love that tape, it looks awesome. Plus, the blue and white tape matches your saddle.

^^^ I wish I was rockin' a tarmac, no doubt.

... just not a tarmac with that tape. Black w/ black saddle, or white w/ white saddle.

I had pink, then black. Its tape. Its basically free. I change it just for kicks. Fizik sent new tape to the shop I ride for, so on it went.

I had everyone on here tell me that the red/yellow splash tape I had on my 84 trek looked terrible and that I should change it to black. When I was changing the tape out, I bought black tape. I hated how it looked, I'm getting that splash tape again next time.

Get what you like.

Should see if they can get you some awesome chrome tape. Plain silver would look pretty tite, too. Do they make that saddle in silver?

plain blue or plain white would be more appropriate. the odd striping draws too much attention to the fact that the stripes are not evenly spaced, imho.

the wide carbon weave is beautiful, and the decals are very flowing with the sloped top tube. its smooth. the tape is not so smooth. its a visual-texture-vector thing.

I think if the tape were blue with white stripes it would look better. As is.... yikes. BUT, it definitely sets your SL2 apart from the rest, which I respect.

Love the set up, but I have to agree with the majority that the tape needs to go.

I think the frame would need more white to pull off the mainly white seat and bars. As is it looks shocking which might be good but I would go for more balance. Still the bike looks great. At this point we are talking about how do we make this super model look better changes.

I hope you can ride like a bat out of hell. Id ride that just to drop people who were more concerned about how a bike looks than how you ride it. Doesn't look terrible to me either.
