Does anyone take off both wheels & put their bike in their car?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: Surly Cross-Check, '85 Giant road bike (unrecogizable fixed-gear conversion

My 60cm Surly fits entirely into the trunk of my Honda Accord with both wheels removed. No need to put down the backseat.

Bikes: 2008 Giant OCR1 (with panda bear on the back!)

I didn't read the OP, but if it's like the thread title, then I do that all of the time. Just be careful to not be like me and forget the wheels! Lost a good set of Pro2s and Aksiums this way.

Normally just toss both rear seats down and take off the front, but I can fit more bikes, or a third person, if I take off both wheels and the seat, and have them standing up.

I also but a sock over the rear derailleur, and something under the chain stays so the derailleur isn't getting crushed.

Bikes: Kuota Kredo / Marinoni Piuma Ti

Bought a roof rack at the insistence of my gf so we could put the bikes on top and have more room inside the car for bags...
Brand new car, what do you think happened? The front quick release broke and dumped my bike on the roof/side of the car (back wheel was still attached with a strap)...
$$$ later for repairs, both bikes *always* get both wheels off and go inside the car: one in the trunk, and one in the back seat. This is in a coupe btw - everyone at group rides is always amazed that I can fit both bikes inside... and they'll never go outside ever again

The bikes are always clean that way, and I never have to deal with the noise of having them on the roof... and the gf had to learn to bring less bags on weekend trips
