Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Zipp wheels identify/price check/inflation questions

So I just bought a used bike that came with older Zipp carbon tubular wheels. I have three questions:

(1) How old and what model are these wheels? Here's a photo:

https://img204.imageshack.us/my.php?i...600x600oy5.jpg

Sticker on the bottom says "ICT: Inversion Composite Technology," and the top sticker says "Hand-Laid Composite / Zipp Speedway Indiana." I looked at Zipp's wheel timeline page and it looks like they may be 2002 404s? Anyone know?

(2) How much are these wheels worth? I've been thinking about ditching them for more traditional clinchers; I'm not sure I have the energy or desire to maintain tubulars, and I wonder what I could get for them. Problem: I have no idea how many miles are on them.

(3) I am a total carbon/tubular wheel newbie, but even so I feel pretty dumb asking this question: how the hell do I inflate the tires? Here's a photo of the stem:

They don't look like any stem I've ever seen. Where's the valve? In case it matters, tires are Continental Giro 28" 22mm, and I'm using a cheapo Blackburn pump (TP-1 Trakpump), although it does have dual presta/schrader attachments.

Thanks for any help.

1.) That's probably right; 2002-2003. Pre-dimples
2.) $4-600
3.) There is a regular presta valve undernath, what you see is just a valve extender. You should be able to just put a pump on it and go at.

No dimples, no carbon dustcaps and large ICT decal = 2002-2003 model year.
