Freaking Rednecks...
Id say 90% of people that holler at me when im riding, which i just blow off, are rednecks in their stupid gas guzzling, lifted trucks.
I guess thats what i get for living in south texas...

I'm a person that doesn't have Elmer's Glue colored skin. I"ve had people intentionally try to run me over, dogs sent at me, bottles thrown at me, bottle rockets shot at me...all while riding a bike.
Its too bad that all this inbreeding takes a while to kill them off.
I guess the majority of folks on this board have Elmer's Glue skin and don't know what its like to be the recipient of idiocracy.

Seriously though, I completely agree with you. You're riding a bike, so you're better than them in my mind.

The California red necks seem to be more civilized and dare I say, tolerant. We have more gigantic stomper trucks than Democrats in this town, and I've yet to be harangued, harassed, spat upon or thrown at by one of these good ol' boys.

Furiousf, I love Redlands. The start of the Bear Ride. Neat town. But there's a section of the ride, before it starts to go uphill, there are these homes with these large chicken attached to the roof...do you know the one? I always thought.."man, I'd hate to get stuck out here on a bike alone"

There are some areas around here that are pretty spooky.

I was pretty anxious about rednecks when I planned a tour that involved 3 days through Kentucky, but actually I found the people extremely friendly. Almost everyone waved, and it appeared to be genuine. I haven't toured a ton - maybe people are friendlier when you strap on panniers. On the other hand, I did some riding in Nova Scotia a few years ago and found the traffic mostly unfriendly. go figure.

No Rednecks here but plenty of ignorant, intolerant A S S H o LEs. They don't yell. I've never had anything thrown at me, Sometimes they blow their horns, mostly they try to sideswipe you.

i had a very scary run-in with some very nasty, violent rednecks in northern cal once, up by the Eel River...they were about as far from tolerant and civilized as you could get.

The worst places I've toured are Kentucky and Missouri, but the worst place to ride is Santa Clarita.
The only constant seems to be the throwers/yellers are all young white males, including the a-hole who intentionaly rammed my friend into a parked car.

How do you know that they are rednecks? How do you know that they are racist? What is "elmers glue colored skin"? Is that an albino or something? This thread is full of win.
