Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your Lunch time ride Dec 17, 2008

I'll start. Got out for a quick hour ride, Sunny 78 degrees. Got a quick set of power intervals in (which do suck) and back to the office.

Rode in my car home, let the dogs out, had some leftover chili, let the dogs back in, rode in my car back to work.
The ice is coming...

^^^ ok.

2 hrs. Nothing special. Ride a rolling course pushing the climbs at CP6 to CP12, seated, and not much else.

It was friggin cold, but no wind. No sun either.

1/2 day at work today. It's been colder than normal in the Bay Area so I took the opportunity to go find the snow. Climbed up a local Jester (Moody Road) and then up Page Mill to Open Space preserve where there was a lot of snow recently. Most of it melted at this point but still patches here and there on the sides of the road. About 2600' elevation, 30 miles. The new Jamis is great, climbs like carbon & rides like steel.

I rode in to work today looking like a total poseur with my new Velobrew kit on. Rode the TCR team, tubular deep carbon rims, the whole zoot-fest. At least my legs aren't shaven yet.
