Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Would U have rode? 50miler but most recent forecast called 4 snow showevers at star

Sort of bummed in that I had off today and the opportunity for a decent 50m group-ride @9am. [temps 31F 10mph winds]

Forecast called for snow showers at the start time. I was looking out the window and checking the interactive radar maps on two different websites which both showed that the precipitation was on its way. Guess what? Cloudy but still not even a dusting of snow/rain.

I don't mind riding in the cold (rode 40m yesterday in Windy 22F conditions) but am not motivated to ride in rain or snow. (Unless trying to recreate that great image of Andy Hampsten in Gavia Pass)

So what would you have done?
*** I will likely go to gym as I loathe riding alone.

Ride!

Given the choice, I'd rather suffer alone in the rain and snow than excersize indoors. But that's just how much I loathe the gym or trainer.

if the snow/slush isn't sticking, it makes it a great time o ride.

rain ain't all that bad either, you just need the right gear.

Ride.

ANY day out on the bike beats sitting here at my desk.

You owe it to all of us who are stuck indoors at work . . . RIDE!

As long as the roads were clear enough to ride at the beginning of the ride, I would have gone. Flurries aren't an issue for a cyclist!
