Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bonktown (Chainlove for road bikes)

It appears that Chainlove is going to launch a road-specific site on Jan 19.

www.bonktown.com

Should be good. Chainlove has some really good deals on bike stuff sometimes. I get tired of all the clothing, though.

Just thought I'd post. I did a search and didn't find anything.

Nice. A lot of what I saw was clothing and MTB items. Hopefully this will be more parts (no clothing or less of it or atleast road cycling specific clothing) and no MTB stuff.

So far, I'm disappointed. I forgot to check it until a little while ago, but so far all I've seen is women's clothes.

Has anyone seen anything decent yet?

Dura Ace 7800 RD for about 79 dollars. I didn't get one, but it looked like a good deal.

I got a sweet Santini Jersey today for $39 bucks. I'm happy. If I had $2200 laying around I'd have bought the Merlin CR1 bike that was on today.

I couldn't decided whether to get a Dura Ace chain for $25. By the time I decided to pull the trigger, they were sold out.

Are they good bars? I hadn't heard of them before. Looks like they weigh the same (270g) as a set of aluminum bars I just took off my bike.

Since I've been watching the rest of the day (with the plugin) I'm very happy so far. They've got an LAS Squalo helmet right now, which everyone likes, 52% off.

They've had saddles, bars, big tights, etc. Some nice stuff.

PRO is Shimano's sub-division for finishing kits, specialty wheels and other stuff. Very good stuff.

Actually those were carbon/aluminum bars, but I wouldn't knock them.

Another option - Blue Plate Velo

For you Chainlove and Bonktown fans, we offer another option: https://www.blueplatevelo.com. Same idea - overstock bikes and gear at 30-70% off. Ours is a mix of road and mountain gear, but we do offer some nice high end road stuff now and then. It's just one product per day, posted at 9 AM MST and ending at 3:30 PM MST (unless we sell out first). Today it's mountain bike shorts, but we've got an On One Mungo Mustache Bar coming up tomorrow. Vetta computers, Pista floor pumps, Santini apparel, ITM carbon bars, etc in the near future. Not trying to be spammy, just thought you might be interested based off the thread...

Gear attack

If you have multiple outdoor pursuits like me, https://gearattack.com/ has all of those one at a time deals from Backcountry on it.

gearattack.com is pretty buggie. it will lose connection after a while. not sure if that's just me or everyone has the same problem.

like the concept a lot, tho, just hope it works better

A few days ago, I ordered an Ultegra 6600 crankset for $120. Very good price and my email notification confirms that the product shipped the next business day.

Yep... I got that one too. I got the Dura Ace RD and the Easton EC90 handlebars. Bonktown is making me poor.
