fulcrum wheel advice
So I'm building a new bike, fairly cheapish as I'm only 17.
spec allez comp '05 (i think) second hand frame
full ultegra everything (except wheels obviously)
ritchey wcs 4 axis stem (mmmmmmmmm wet white)
pro PLT compact bars
spec alia saddle
so,
Fulcrum racing 5's are looking good, less than i was expecting to pay and i've heard they got raving reviews.
is it really worth going up to (almost) double the price for a pair of racing 3's?
anyone had experience with either of these wheels?
thanks a bunch,
Paul

I really like the 3s. But they are the only Fulcrums I've ever ridden.

I use the 3s as training wheels on this bike:
As soon as someone wants to buy my Orbea, they will go on it.

Since you're on a budget, I suspect that the 5's will do fine. They use standard cartridge bearings that are cheap to replace. The higher levels, have caged balls that are lighter, but if you ever mess up a bearing race, the spare parts prices are high.

If you get the Fulcrum 5's be sure that they are the Fulcrum 5 Evolutions, they are quite a bit lighter than the older 5's. I had mine for two years and never had a problem with them.
