No, he saw his shadow (and so did the Canadian one, whose name I can't pronounce let alone spell) meaning that there is ONLY 6 more weeks of winter!! WooHoo!! It'll be over in a mere 6 weeks!!!! That's like mid-March.

The original Wiarton Willie lived to the advanced age of 22, and was found dead only two days before Groundhog Day in 1999. The organizers were unable to find a replacement, and instead marked Groundhog Day by revealing "Willie" in a coffin. He had been dressed in a tuxedo, had coins over his eyes, and a carrot between his paws. A scandal ensued when it transpired that the real Willie had in fact decomposed, and the body in the coffin was that of an older, stuffed groundhog.

In temperate zones, it's a colder season featuring snow and shorter days. See here: winter.

Stupid weather-rat. Hopefully he's as accurate in his predictions as my local forecasters. It'll be 75 in Chicago by next Tuesday then.

I think the whole deal is rigged. I live 60 miles away from there, and there is no way to see your shadow today. This isn't the first time that has happened. Fortunately, the stupid groundhog does a horrible job anyway.

OK, that's enough of those pics. Anybody else who moves here has to live with you.
Forget it folks, that house is worth millions, but there's gangs and riots just down the street from there, the killer earthquakes could strike at any time, you can smell the smoke from all the fires, and the state government has issued stop payments on all official checks.
OTOH, I hear Oregon is very, very nice, and has a great cycling community!

At this point, I'm starting to feel like "Anywhere That Isn't New England" is nice.
