Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

wiseracer.com, 3T, 3T's US distributor...any problems?

just wonder if anyone has had problems with wiseracer.com, 3T, or the US supplier/distributor of 3T products.

i ordered a 3T fork (3T Funda Team for 650c wheel) from wiseracer.com back in december...and was told it should arrive to them by january...then it changed to late january to early february...and now it changed to early march.

i REALLY want this fork for my TT/Tri bike so i'm gonna try to wait it out! on the plus side, wiseracer did just offer me a full refund if i didn't want to wait. the guy that i've been corresponding with at wiseracers seems like a really good guy...very prompt with replies...gave me a discount...and offered a full refund.

i think the problem is probably either 3T or the stores supplies...

I have no experience with wiseracer but this is the reality of buying imported stuff. It really seems that Italian companies don't go out of there way to make it easy to work with them. Their american websites are typically shotty at best and it takes forever to get stuff.

I know that my local shop was having trouble getting me 3T stuff. Basically the distributor said they weren'tgoing to carry it anymore. I ended up ordering from TotalCycling although I got the wrong stem and ordered another from Competitive Cyclist...

AFAIK, 3T is in the middle of getting a new North American distributor, so that may be slowing things down a bit for us in the states.

Also, it seems the recent popularity of 3T products is more than they'd planned for. Lots of things are backordered in the UK/EU until mid-Feb to mid-Mar depending on the product.

Yeah their new distributor is vittoria, the availability right now is poor, but before vittoria took over it was abysmal. It should get better soon.

Give Tom at Bikesport in Dearborn a call he could probably hook you up.

well, the saga continues...

i was told by the retailer that it should come with their march shipment of stuff and that they'd get it right out to me! but once wiseracer.com got their shipment, my fork was still not there...

wiseracer apologized and once again offered me a full refund...but i just really want the fork! and it doesn't seem like anyone has it!

from the email correspondences, it does not seem like it's wiseracer.com's fault...and it doesn't seem like it's the distributers fault. can 3T just not keep up with orders?
