Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

BMX size. Most kids have those. If a teenager has a bike, it's probably the BMX he bought when he was 10. Even some adults buy BMX bikes because they think that they're the right size since they seem to be a "one size fits most" kind of bike.

I just checked my garage. There's a 52, 53, 54, 55, and an M. I'm going to say the most popular bike size at my house is 54.

Do you own a bicycle shop?

If you stock a collection of bicycles in the 49-50 cm range, several women would probably be pleased ... that's the size that's most popular with me, and others who are my size.

Bikes: Cannondale Synapse '06, Mongoose titanium road bike '00--my commuter. Yes, Mongoose once made a decent ti road bike.

My most popular frame size is 60 with 175 cranks. Not too big, not too small.

I ride a 56cm, so I'd say that settles it.

That would be the median size, not the most popular.

I'll vote 55, just to be different.

I think that on most models a 55cm frame looks the best, just in terms of proportions. I'm also a munchkin riding a 54. They look well proportioned also, but just a tick cramped. The really little bikes look kinda strange, but some big bikes, say 61 and bigger, just look ridiculous to me. Their steerer tube is as long as my seat tube!

None of this has anything to do with the original post, but whatever.
