Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's a good post. Just be careful sliding it in and make sure the clamp is completely loose. I scratched the crap out of mine. Also, beat the saddle around when you are tightening it to settle the clamps. Otherwise it may loosen a little.

If you like those Camelbak Chill bottles, you should give a Camelbak Ice bottle a try. It really does keep liquids colder for about twice as long...

Check out this recent thread...more appropriate than this one to discuss.

Thanks, I'll look into those once my rides get really long. Those chill bottles got good reviews, if these could stay semi-cold for 2 hour rides w/o stops, I'll be satisfied.

Dream on. Those and any other "insulated" bottles I've ever own have never stayed even cool for more than 30-45 min at most.

freeze about half the liquid in them, and they'll stay cool for about two hours. I've made the mistake of freezing them almost full and not having almost any fluids for a couple hours.

Sorry to be so late in answering this. I don't have the case, but it normally comes with one. It's just barely airline legal (without extra charges): it's 26"x26"x10", and yes, a 700c wheel with deflated tire fits inside of a 26" square. I don't have Ritchey's soft case but plan to get the hard case sold by the folks who make the SS coupling system. Same size, but hard shell with wheels for rolling it around the airport.

had a week or so of chillier weather here in DC, found myself all alone rocking short sleeves, so I figured it was time. They arrived today, I'll try them out tomorrow, weather permitting.
