Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

They are nice wheels.. There's lighter things but Aksiums are great training/cat 5/4 race wheels.

Used Ultegra 6500 brakes to replace the 6207 series on my Miyata 912. Missed the set from another seller for $25...had to break the bank at $50.

Just ordered a pair of gp 4000 tires from PBK for a grand total of $69. Not too bad at all.

don't think just because they don't cost much, they're not good wheels. i was riding a boardwalk in brooklyn, didn't realize i had veered over into the section of boardwalk that runs parallel to my wheel, missing plank, i ate it VERY hard. not to mention applied a sort of torsion to the wheel as i fell. the front wheel was still true.

these wheels can, over a long ride, start to feel a bit sluggish. and they're a bit heavy. but they're bombproof, and great for everyday abuse wheels. i eventually went 500 grams lighter on a pair of wheels but at three times the cost.
