Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

projekt colnago master new paint and parts

Hello nice members of the forum.

My relationship with my white Colnago master started on our honeymoon (with my wife ) : 6months Mountainbikin and climbing in France and Spain and living together in our VW T4 postwagon.

It was sunny day and we were stopping by a second hand sports gear shop in Grenoble France.
we were definenetely looking for something but have forgotten what, and there it was .. this utterly gorgeous white colnago master.

It had beatuful but strange looking brakes and more chrome than i had ever seen on a bicycle frame.
Nice lines with feminity and dignity.
I touched it and we had some long looks.
but
I was not a roadie and we bought that something small and continued to Briancon to catch some extremely nice single track.

I just coyud not get rid of thinking this beatuful bike and after 2weeks i persuaded my wonderful 2half that the new trip to Grenoble was essential , gotta see the Chartreuse liqour factory and some friends or something.

Bought the bike and started to ride it a lot in Provence where we went next and spend mabye a bit too much time looking at in the eavnings.
like taking the bike also out when having a eavning dinner and things like that.

And then one night my wife had a dream where i was being unfaitful to her with some blonde named Laura.

It was very quite clear that this Laura was symbolisizing this new bike.

After this its always been called Laura.

I used to bike a lot and rode nice roads on french and spanish mountains.
I started to like roadbiking more and more and felt the need for ergolever sifting, Laura had old style 6speed casette.

On our way home i bought a Colnago Titanium with 8 speed record with cool but heavy cosmics, rode a lot with it but newer liked it the same.
Laura was singlespeeded had a place inside our home and was used only on shorter rides.

Now i sold the Titanium and bought modern wheels and gears and had Laura repainted by the professional painter
Putting some new record parts and neutron ultras
hope this turns up Nice.
few pictures from the way.

Enjoy the bike!

Gorgeous bike and nice job! I have a Colnago Mexico and I did the same thing. I put Campy Chorus 10 on it and have revived a great bike.
