Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

RW those new Cdales that Leakygas is riding look pretty nifty.

Frankly I'd be a bit nervous doing business with a firm called 'Leakygas'.

The helmets are designed to distract from the stupid looking cable routing.

Speaking of which . . . what brand/model of bike is the winner actually riding? It looks like . . . well, not an S2.

Actually, it's Lee quee gas...Phil's pronunciation makes it sound the way you wrote it, though.

BTW...the wheels have begun spinning to get one of those for moi...but all the production so far goes to Lee quee gas.

Another cool part is the cap insert that attaches the pedal to the BB...the ceramic BB30 was a magenta color. The team bikes have green ones.

Actually, it's Italian. It is spelled Liquigas, but pronounced "Leaky Gas."

(Don't draft too close.)

Once the Cervelo team took control there didn't seem to be anything the other teams could do on that circuit. The "God of Thunder" had a huge gap at the line.

Of course not. They dominated on their unstoppable Cervelo S2 and S3 racing bikes with New Aero Cable Routing.

+1. It is pronounced "lee-kwee-gas." It would have to be spelled "Lichigas" in Italian to sound like "Leaky gas" in English. But half the fun listening to Phil to is hearing him say things like that.

It was a smart strategy. With the damp roads, not many people were going to try the big outside move around the circuit. You just slow up a little extra when in the tight corners and accelerate hard off of them. Let the accordian effect do the rest. Columbia never even got a chance to lauch Cavendish. Cervelo had him neutralized before the sprint ever started.

Good eye. And he's smart.

I have to believe that there will be a 7900 Shifter part II. They are terrible.

I like those helmets, reminds me of those frogs that absorb their babys eggs into their back, and then they hatch out of the skin... a cool organic looking thing.

there using 7800 because 7900 is junk, the rd is like plastic, fake carbon. and when it rains that hard the front shifters jam up and won't shift, we had dinner with team wrench for cervelo, and they were taking off 7900 before the san jose start the next day, and it worked the god won the stage.
