I'm the one pcad saw who took the stickers off. I had the SL5 front wheel and SL4 rear wheel. I thought they worked great. The bearings were very smooth. I'd still have them but I sold off the bike they were on.

Did I buy another set for the new bike being built? No.

Why not? because for $120 more I got a custom set built with similar 27mm rims (maybe even the same), lighter, stronger spokes, and dt swiss 240s hubs.

I'm not embarassed that I bought neuvations, I like them plenty. The 30 something stickers are a little overkill, that's why I took them off. What's funny is, I went to my LBS with my "unbranded" (R28 aero 4's)wheels and the wrenches there were like," ohhhh cool arse rims" got tons of praise, I even let one of them take a spin around the block. (they still loved it) Once I let the cat out of the bag and told them what they were, the wrenches were singing a different tune......"should have spent the extra $ and got the mavic elites", yada yada yada, next time come here before buying online, you'll regret buying neuvations! WTF ever!

Neuvations are great for what they are. I treat them as an expendable workhorse wheelset. I use M28 SLs on my 'cross bike and they have taken a ridiculous amount of punishment while staying relatively true. I can't speak for their lighter R series. I'll probably have to replace them a few seasons down the line, but when you pay $120 for a wheelset, who cares?

I like my R28s and, after taking the sixteen decals off, saved myself at least 2 grams.

You would think that the Neuvation owner would have changed his decals by now. Someone must have told him how ugly they are.

Thanks for the photos. And I was for real asking the question because I've been dealing with the same wrenches for years and figured they would give me an honest answer had they actually dealt with the wheels 1st hand. I didn't think they'd shiit on something they have never seen. (And they usually don't mind people buying off the net). I've got a '07 LeMond Zurich with crappy Bontrager Race wheels and would like to get something to replace them.

I've got a set of M28 Aero 3s, with ceramic bearings, that I was happy with--until the rear rim cracked at 2K miles. It was promptly replaced by Neuvation, but I've reached the conclusion that my 235# needs more than 20 spokes to assure wheel longevity. I just replaced them with Bicycle Wheel Warehouse Ultegra/DT Swiss RR 1.1, with ST Swiss Competition 2.0/1.8 spokes, which I like equally well--hopefully their 32 spokes will hold up better. Just for the record, the Neuvation braking surface is smooth as can be and the hubs run just marginally louder than the ultra-silent Ultegras. Any of you lighter guys who want to try Neuvations, PM me.

Regardless, I wouldn't buy a rim that's not welded at the seam.
