Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What's the best US made road frame?

With news that Cannondale is moving manufacturing overseas, what is the best non-custom road frame made in the US these days?

Why does it have to be made in the US?
All the best carbon bikes are made in Taiwan anyway...

What relevance does that have to wanting to buy a USA-made bike? I'm questioning the merit(s) of buying a USA-made bike, if there are any.

Maybe the guy is seeing his fellow Americans losing their jobs and he wants to do what little he can about it. No offense to our non-American friends but charity begins at home right?

A desire to not increase our trade deficit and retain some tiny shred of a manufacturing base, would be my guess.

Charity goes to the person needing it the most. Who's to say Americans need the job more than other folks around the world?

Silly. If someone took your job, it means two things: they were willing to work for a lower price and/or they have more skills than you, both says you aren't worthy of your job.

many, many fine U.S. road frames of U.S. steel or other materials:

Serotta, Seven, Moots, Merlin, Litespeed, Waterford, various Treks

(love my Merlin and Serotta)

Madone and Litespeeds are both good options as well. While the C'dale Super Sixes are still made in the US, I bet that is soon to be changed. Dorel sucks.

Hey D-bag. The guy asked a completely legit question. How about your crawl off your cross and get back under your rock.

Calfee. Parlee. Rugamer. Strong. Steelman. Landshark.

There are plenty of good domestic frame builders. Most if not all of the above offer stock frames in addition to custom. There are a lot I haven't listed; those were just the ones I remembered in 5 seconds.
