Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's probably not "hot" ... more like non-existant .... like the Ebay scams. Post a picture from the internet and find a sucker to send you money.

I have a "junk" email account, and I've responded to a few scammers .... string them along for a bit as they get excited that I'm about to send them a check ......

I got this from him:

Hello

My name is John Slater, i am the first owner of the bike.It is in perfect condition, because my job ,i am a doctor, doesn't allow me to much time to enjoy the bike.
I live in newport oregon and last week i had a buyer from your area interested to buy it using Ebay procedure. We completed all the steps, i left the bike to DAS custody paid the delivery to his area and he change his mind for a family problem. Now i decided to post this add on your area hoping to find a customer willing to buy it using Ebay procedure since i am in to this already.YOu will get the bike for testing and i will receive the money after you decide to keep it.
If you are interested please let me know so i can offer more informations about it.

Ps pictures attached

I was thinking the same thing. Anyone with a doctorate would write like they had an education. Most medical doctors refer to themselves as physicians and not doctors.

https://das.ebay.com/ is the main company that works with ebay.
the bike is in their custody in your area.
to receive the bike for testing we will need to start a transaction trough ebay and DAS will bring you the bike
I will need your name and address to start that"

Yep. Here's what I sent:

"Oh, ok. So I guess you know a lot about bikes. I am very interested in getting this bike.

I looked at DAS - they ship cars and motorcycles. Why are you having them ship the bicycle? Everyone uses UPS.

I think it's a good idea to use eBay as it offers protection for both the seller and the buyer. So, you are going to put the bike up on eBay so I can do a "buy now" and we can have a completed transaction? Is that how it works?"
