This is what you Americans do not understand as the Tour du France only happened for most of you when Lance started winning. For us French the tour was there before Lance and will be there after Lance we do not care how many people watch from outside of France as this is a French thing. Most French people do not like Lance and it is not because he won so many times but the way he wins it's to American there is no sprit in Lance he is a robot and the tour is about more than winning as I said it's a French thing. So the economics are not important to us and many feel having Lance is just that big money wins not at all the sprit of the thing.

Leave it to the French to dink with the race format so that only a robot can win, and then get mad when a robot figures it out and wins it 7 times in a row. Indurain was just as robotic but less talented. Going back to Hinault... now that was some good racing; when you could win by beating the snot out of the hill climbers before the first uphill stage.
