Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

26.6 seat post in 26.8 frame

I'm sure that this has been bounced back and forth quite a bit--I've done a search but no luck. What would be the problem with a 26.6 seat post (Thomson) in a 26.8 frame (Bianchi). If it would be too loose does anyone make a .2 mm shim. Thanks.

WAIT!

I think I have a 26.8 Thomson I got for my track bike and ends up my track bike is a 26.6. Lemme go check.

It's brand new other than pulling it out of the bag, touching the seat tube with it, and then going wtf??.

If this is the case want to trade? It's NOT BLACK, standard, and I think it's the long post.

Just checked. Okay 330 mm, silver, brand new, even bag. 26.8. No setback.

I haven't bought the 26.6 post yet--it's on ebay and the silver 250 mm. What do you want for yours? I would want to cut it down but it sounds like what I need.

I was going to PM you but what the heck. $50 plus whatever shipping is. Seems like the going rate. I paid full retail for it at an LBS, trying to support it. So I'll sponsor you to the tune of, what, like $30. Minus shipping.

If I can get that post off eBay for less I'll rebate you the difference. If I pay $40 + shipping, I'll rebate whatever the difference between that and the $50 + shipping you paid me. If I have to bid higher than $50 then sorry I can't rebate you.
