Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't think it's available on DirecTV. For the Olympics (which were partially on Universal) DTV had a temporary channel set up. Doubt the Giro will warrant that. I think you're screwed.

You are correct. My customer service rep said they have had quite a few calls about it and asked me to send an email requesting it, so I did and now we wait. She said they have Universal channel, but not Universal Sports - but thought if they had enough demand, they might be able to get fairly quickly.

Define "digital tuner". is this something for broadcast signals, or for the unscrambled ones on the cable line?

EDIT: Reading down I get the idea. It's the digital broadcast. I wonder how many channels are available in outer queens. I had several broadcast stations in Brooklyn (2 miles from the city), but only 1 came in clear in Forest Hills.

A digital tuner is what you are going to need to watch broadcast TV of any kind in the very near future. If you are watching broadcast TV you are going to either buy a converter box or a new TV Real Soon Now. https://www.dtv.gov for more info. If you have cable it's a non-issue.
