I am upgrading from 105 to Ultegra bottom bracket, crankset, rear derailleur, and front derailleur. The 105 components only have about 400 miles on them. My LBS told me they would give me $80 on trade-in for the 105 components I am replacing. I really have no intention of ever building a bike, but I kind of wondered if I should keep the stuff just in case. Let me know what you think. Is it worth keeping the stuff around? Thanks, ROn

I'm sure I will not be the only to offer, but I will give you $80 for them. If they are in reasonable shape they are certainly worth that.
I am editing this, because I reread my post and realized that my point may not have been clear. I think you could get at least that selling them on your own (as a later post suggests). I do not know what kind of shape they are in, but I do not think 400 miles is very much for 105 components, unless you were racing offroad in sand, etc. I do not think the Ultegra stuff will wear out any time soon, but if I were to keep one componenet nust in case, I would have to say that would be the rear derailleur, just because that is the most vulnerable item to get broken ina collision or fall. Just my $.02.
I did the same thing last year (they were worn out and moved up to Ultegra). I haven't touched them and they're still in the garage. I should give them away or donate them to a bike shop.
how is $100? I'll offer that becuase if you dont need them thats a nice way for me to build up another bike!
as for your reale question, try ebay, i think you'll have better luck there than your LBS. or try here, PM me if you want.

Take the money and run. Why keep the old parts around when you are trying to get rid of them in the first place by changing them out?

If you find a cheap frame or get that wild hair a project rig with 105 ain't so bad. That is unless you really need the $80. I'd believe you could do better here or ebay. $.02 more
