Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

advice on bikes

Yesterday i went to a store, and they set me up with an 04 Cannondale Caad5 frame with sram components and easton tires. Its an aluminum frame, carbon fork. THey wanted 1324.99.

Today I called another bike shop and they said they had 09 Trek 2.1 in my size, marked down to 1199.

Is there a significant difference in these two (one better than the other). I've riden them both, and I'm pretty new to riding so I couldn't really tell a difference. Does that mean i should get the less expensive one?
Thanks
