Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looks like its the 2001 model:

I'm trying to get my girlfriend into cycling. It looks like its a good size for her.

She rides a MTB on the streets about 30-50 miles per week. She says she loves my Gunnar because it seems so much sturdier than most road bikes... Well, perhaps I convinced her of that actually.

In any case this seems like a nice versatile frame with a good set of components for a beginner. Its a Veloce triple...

Oh and it looks like a decent size for her too. She's 5'9"

Anybody know approx. how much this thing will weigh?

Can I get a mod to transfer this to touring or something since I've been bumped off page 1 with no responses?

I used to have this very bike and it's a good one. It started me back into cycling. It will probably weigh about 21-22 lbs. The frame is Columbus Thron and the frame rides like a cadillac. Very stable and handles well. Veloce triple and the wheels are real sturdy. I changed out the fork for a carbon fork. I rebuilt mine after powercoating it and gave it to my brother to get him to start riding. I think $350.00 might be a little high but it's a darn good bike IMO. Here it is after powdercoating:
