Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: are better than yours.

I've been happy with my Castelli bibs and jerseys. One of my favorite cool weather garments is a Castelli base layer that has a windstopping fabric on the front and a light wicking material on the back. It's an incredibly practical design.

Their stuff seems to be made everywhere: Macau, Romania, Italy, USA and more.

Of all the bits I've owned, I like my Castelli stuff the best. I think I'm going to try their bibs next- but the jerseys and the super-nice jacket I have from them are all very, very good in my mind.

I've got no beef with the way their cuts fit. Then again- this may be some reflection on the lack of manly muscle on my frame.

Incorrect. Cycling comfort is for Freds. Cycling fashion is for posers, like what you're becoming.

Half of my cycling wardrobe is Castelli via bonktown, some of the decals peel after multiple washes but everything fits great, is comfortable, and is constructed well.

What 'becoming'? I consider myself a well established Poser, which is far better than being what most of the idiots here are (including, apparently, yourself), which are Posers in Denial.

I found the opposite. I wear a medium in EVERYTHING. You name it, and I wear a medium. But my medium castelli jersey falls a tad short on me, so just a tiny bit of my skin is exposed at the waist line. I don't like that.

The quality though is very nice.

Bikes: 2009 Spooky (cracked frame), 2006 Curtlo, 2002 Lemond (current race bike) Zurich, 1987 Serotta Colorado, 1986 Cannondale for commuting, a 1984 Cannondale on loan to my son

I have two pieces of Castelli stuff and I like both of them except for the stupid names. The first one is Castelli "Thunder Pants". They are outstanding rain pants, but who in marketing came up with that name and who in management approved it? My wife got these for me off of Ebay at a substantial discount. She still thought they were expensive, but they really work as opposed to all the other rain pants I have ever owned including some expensive Gore-Tex ones.

The second one is a winter jacket that I picked up in the Atlanta Performance shop at 70% off. It is a "King Arthur" jacket. WTF does King Arthur have to do with cycling? It is a nice jacket at the price I bought it, but not at full retail.

Both items are very well made and fit me.

I love Castelli's stuff... but can rarely find the right size. I need like an XXXL. I'm not fat... 197lbs with 9% bodyfat. I guess more athletic/muscular types don't exist in europe.

great kiss pad and great lycra, but their bibs are wayyy too short in the torso area. i get lower back pain because they're pull down on my shoulders too much.

even with "euro fitting" accounted for, no 5'10 140lb man should be considered Large

By FAR the nicest piece of bicycle clothing I've ever owned. I will try other Castelli garments going forward.

Discuss.
Castelli's got you on the payroll now too, huh.. Will they be making the surely upcoming BikesDirect jersey?

You should replace 'Peloton Dog' with Thunder Pants under your user name.
