Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Depending on the bike: Brooks Swift, B17 Standard, and B17 Champion Special (my LBS had it and I couldn't let it slip by.. lol).

Prior to them, Fizik Arione and Aliante, among others.

Selle SMP Evolution. So far it's the best I've tried. Took some time to adapt to the thin padding.

And for those of you who will surely notice, I AM on a casual lookout for a good zero setback post for a more central clamping position on the rails.

I have a Stratos on the way...I almost did the Evolution but the lack of padding shied me away. I hope to find the Stratos as nice as you found your Evolution.

I'm thinking of buying a gel version just for the heck of it to compare. I'd probably put it on the tandem since I need a saddle for it anyway. But the titanium is plenty comfortable for me, both sitting and in the critical "soft tissue" area.

I have the E3 Form Gel. Incredibly comfortable. Thinking of buying the Ti just to compare

While shopping for the above Evolution, I was also keeping my eye open for the Stratos, and think that I may have preferred it for the same reason you mention, but I really wanted the 'first generation' design that didn't have the embroidered cover. The Stratos didn't come out until later and unfortunately now all of the SMP's include the embroidery. Evolution was one of the original models, and only the originals (and the lower priced Extra) have the painted decals. I'd read plenty of negative comments about the new ones scuffing/wearing spots on shorts. The Evolution isn't plush or extremely comfortable, but it solved the problem that none of the other saddles was able to: Nerve Pressure/Circulation etc.

Used the SLR for a bit, then it started causing issues out of the blue. Will probably revisit it sometime.

Currently riding a flite and a SSM Titanio 200/Strada saddle.
