Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Keep the Ultegras or Williams Sys 19s ??

My wife just bought herself a shinny new Ruby. I came with Ultegra wheels and rims. She has Williams System 19 on her current bike, but is wondering about moving them to the Ruby (Ruby Expert, all Ultegra)

Which would you advise her to use?
She doesn't weigh much and rides about 6000+ plus a year, no racing, but lot of centuries and 50 milers. Does a good bit of climbing.

From everything I've heard about the Williams 19's, for a light rider, good roads and climbing, you can't get much better in a wheel. The Ultegra's are good too, but a little on the stodgy conservative side, like most of the Shimano wheels. Personally, I'd run the Williams and sell the Shimano's on Ebay or CL. (And then use that money to buy more fancy bike stuff, of course)

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. We'll likely just swap the Ultegras onto her old bike and put the Williams on the new Ruby.
