Great jersey designs?

I'm starting a little company that will sell exclusive, limited-edition jerseys. Not quite ready to announce it yet, but soon.

Post your favorite jersey designs here, with any explanation you may have on why you think it's great. This will hopefully give my designers some creative inspiration.

Thanks.

you've been here long enough to know that the search engine already contains half a dozen versions of this thread.

victory beer and amoroso rolls, thats why!

All I can say is FULL ZIP! I hate jerseys that don't have full length zippers. They're tough to get off after a ride. Have full length zippers.

And pockets!

I must say cycling jerseys are in dire need of better graphic design prints.

My favorite design is one that looks good, works well, and is under $40.

Good luck with your business!

Heh. I love Primal Wear jerseys. They're long enough to fit over my gut, unlike PI's. They breathe and wick well. And they don't look anything like traditional racing jerseys - a big plus IMO. In fact I've received a number of compliments from other riders on a couple of different ones that I wear.

If there is - please post a link.

I was going to stay out of the thread - but 7-11 brought me in.

Okay I want

color combos

red/yellow/black

silver/light blue/dark blue

pink and dark blue

Use some colors from the pro tour

Need a jersey that has the Letters HTFU on the back pockets

Could have name of the jersey across the front.

full zip - must

now back to watching Italy v Egypt

Then don't look at any other jerseys. If you see it on a jersey today, it's all ready been done and will be yesterday's news by the time you get to market. Example: Twin Six did argyle. Garmin-Chipotle did argyle. Argyle is now done.

Go to Paris for the spring fashion shows...Borneo or Afghanistan for local fabric prints...Detroit to see how creative people can be when they have no money left...that will give you inspiration.

Better still, have a REAL designer actually design something that people would like to buy.

I see many jerseys which are $$pricey$$ but look like crap. I see many many many jersey's that are affordable that also look like crap.

Guess what? Those jerseys don't sell very well.

And, please no sponge bob. If you want a parody jersey, then make a new design that is fun but cycling related. Try "sagwagon cycling insurance" with a cute picture of an antique surfmobile woodie up on blocks. Or "Fatbottom Criterium Snax" energy bars. Or something equally silly but still cycle related.

Bright colors or sharp contrast. Solids are boring.

Skip the beer/liquor logo's. Been there, done that to death.

So, in essence, it takes ingenuity. Otherwise your design/company = fail.

Make sure the pockets aren't so huge that 1 gel pack makes them sag to the rear brake. I've only found a small handful of jerseys that have reasonably sized pockets without having to go to a smaller size.

This is exactly why we're in business. And I hear your point about a REAL designer, which I have on staff, but then again, Threadless has build an enormously successful business on crowdsourced design.

Stay tuned for more details.

PS. All jerseys will be full zip.

Now that's good news.

I'm in the market for a new jersey. Full zip for sure. But I like simple, elegant designs. I'm a big fan of the shirts that jockeys wear when racing. Understated, but still fun. I'd love to see a line of jerseys with bibs (with high quality chamois of course) designed along similar lines.

it's scary how you troll in most threads and become forum police in others. bi-polar is a terrible condition
