Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

As Lance would say, F'em. F'em all.

And who can argue with that?

Does that spot start to underscore the real value of another unlikely Lance TdF victory? Ask the chemo patients with the little yellow Livestrong bands. Those people (and their families), they believe in Lance.

You gotta give em hope.

Yeah I just shaved the other day and now my stubble is standing on end, which is really weird feeling... i.e. I got the goosebumps too.

Lance didn't have to start Livestrong. He didn't have to raise millions upon millions of dollars for cancer research and raise global cancer awareness. He didn't have to get involved with a charitable foundation that absorbs much of his time, time that he could be using to make more personal income than he does now (he commmands stupid high lecture fees, every Livestrong function he attends means less income for him). He could have gone into retirement making millions of personal income and never done any of that.

But he didn't. He has spent much of the last decade raising money and giving hope to millions. I'm trying to figure out how that makes him an arrogant self centered ahole, but it's not happening. Self confidence and assurance is arrogance? Making money for him and his family from personal appearances and endorsements (after he stopped taking money for being a pro cyclist) is 'greed'? Whatever.

You know what I think? how many people have done what he has? and how many people wear livestrong bracelets. People who dont even bike wear them. So before you label lance as a ******, look at how many other people have worked as hard as he has to establish something as grand as the foundation. None. He started a SENSATION around the world. I wear a livestrong helmet. Some people need to think before they speak.

Awesome commercial. I really hope Armstrong wins again(odds are against him, but that never stopped before. "If we're going to race the Tour de France, we might was well win" right?). Being a testicular cancer survivor myself, I can really identify and wholly respect with what he is doing. the LiveSTRONG foundation helped me when I was going through chemo (a free book with questions to ask and suggestions on how to cope that they sent to me). I fully support the LiveSTRONG foundation and hope everyone else sees the good that has come from it.
