Ok - thanks again but another question. With the Halo is the pullover type better or the tie around?

Deepak the 2 you have linked are for cold not heat. Hope the halo works for you. Else try a cotton bandana or cycling cap.

Have used both Headsweats and Halo skull caps mainly to reduce sun exposure (helmut burn on a bald head looks really bad). Slight preference goes to Halo, but you have to fiddle with it get the gasket in the right place.

I just use a cotton cycling cap... seems to work well in Austin/Houston... 100+ everyday and very, very humid.

For me though, the thing is nothing but a receptacle for sweat. I bought one of these from Hammer after reading this. I guess it might work if you don't use a helmet, but for me, it only took about 30 minutes until it was soaked with sweat and started to drip in my face. For whatever reason, it seemed to direct all of my sweat directly into my eyes, which started the stinging eyes thing.
I would wear nothing before wearing this in the future. At least then I would have the chance of wind blowing the sweat off my head.
I'll stick with the Halo.

The sweat gutter thing is wack and it doesn't work. This however works very well.

Try this.
I tried it try today in hot/humid Florida and it did make a difference. Unfortunately, it later turned it into a wet ride. Very good deal at $3.95 w/no shipping charge.

I have the same problem and used the Headsweat skull cap and it works very well! I was surprised how cool it kept my head under the helmet.

Got the Halos. One elastic and one tie. Both work great. Did a 4 hour ride slow pace today, and not one drop of sweat in eyes/specs. Yesterday did a very fast 2 hours and normally my eyes would be killing me, but the Halo worked well enough that I could actually see well at the end of the ride.
Big thumbs up for this product.

Now try an 11 mile climb at average of 7.5% and see if you can go faster.
Went to France a few years ago and everyone wears cycling caps- whether with a helmet or under it.
I do now and they work.

stole your bike
I sweat a lot and use the Halo which works really well at keeping the sweat out of my eyes however I get it saturated pretty quickly on hot and humid days so I end up having to wring it out otherwise sweat works its way down.

I use an Addidas sweatband from sports authority, it is a womans tennis headband($10). It fits my head well and does not get saturated. It feels like the same material that a jersey is made from and whicks away moisture nicely.

If you put chapstick on your eyebrows, the sweat will stay out of your eyes. Vaseline works as well, but is harder to stash in your jersey or seatbag, and can lead to some embarrasing inquiries.

Mind you, I'm riding in Houston, and I notice a lot of the people who like the non-Halo bands seem to be in less hot and humid conditions.

I finally realized that positioning is the key. If you pull the headband down right over the eyebrows all of these work better. I'm riding 3+ hours at the time on Saturday and Sunday and the temps here in southern Florida are between 89 and 103 with humidity like a sauna and if I get the headband positioned properly it works OK to keep sweat from my eyes.
