Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Road Biker Here

Hi all,

My name is John I hail from Lafayette IN and have recently started cycling. Until now I had been borrowing a Trek 5200 OCLV from a buddy to ride, but now I own my own bike a 2008 Redline F750. I realize it is a step down from what I was using but it is cool to have my own ride, and this seems like a nice entry level road bike that I am comfortable riding. I have had it for about 4 days now and have put pretty close to 80 miles on it. Clipless pedals and Sidi's on the way from Nashbar. Scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

Ride brother, just ride. (Well, go to work too so you can buy cool bike clothes and overpriced water bottles)

Wow, you're not far away. I just joined the site today and am starting to get into cycling myself. I'm currently living in West Lafayette, IN. I can't wait to hit the roads and start riding!
