wheel squeak? anyone had that problem? what did you do?
I'm going crazy trying to eliminate a squeak. It's not the seatpost, saddle, stem or pedals...been there, done that. I even had the bottom bracket pulled out, inspected, and regreased.
So that leaves the wheels; the rear wheel to be specific. Can a squeak develop in the cassette or where it attaches to the rear hub? Can spokes squeak (Easton EA90SL's)? Can a hub squeak? I suppose we should throw in the quick release while were at it.
Help!

you grab around 4 spokes and squeeze it with your hand, or you can destress them with a lever.
spokes destressing and conforming to the wheel usually are pinging sounds.
you'll need to true them up again after destressing.

Its common for the rubber dust seal on the hub to squeak. Just pull it back a bit and lube the seal/hub mating surface (accessible on most hubs).

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
I had a squeak coming from the derailleur pulleys. It sounded like a bird chasing me, but only happened while pedaling. A couple drops of lube eliminated it.
