Digital Inclinometer?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Digital Inclinometer?

I just ordered a new bike and am shopping for a cycle computer with a digital read-out of real time inclination. (ie 3%). No luck with the trek or cat-eye units. Anyone else I should check out?

The Garmin family have baro altimeters, but I don't know if they have real-time, % grade read-out.

The Sigma Rox 9.0 has it. It isn't immediate though, and I don't think it's directly measured. It gets the grade by using rise (altimeter) and distance over ground, not the most accurate way to do it, and it makes it lag a lot.

Garmin 705 has the percent grade, I think the 305 does as well, I love watching it when I'm climbing

I think most bike computers with altimeters should have a digital gradient display. These can be had for a lot less than Garmins and should be just as accurate. I haven't checked the latest models, but I'm pretty sure that Cateye has an altimeter bike computer. So does Specialized, Vetta, and most of the other brands.

The Garmin 305 has a real time grade display. I don't think it is very accurate unless the grade is long, but it is interesting enough to watch that I have in the corner of screen 1. It actually showed 21% today on a climb for a short stretch. That hill is pretty steep at the top, but 21% is pretty hard to believe.
