Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yakima Quickback 2

Thinking of buying the Yakima Quickback 2 for my Mini Cooper. Anyone have this rack/curious how it performs?

i have the "king joe" that i use often for my wife's mini cooper, works great. Yakima racks are top notch, i imagine the one you are looking at is great too.

i like the adjustibility of the king joe, but it looks like the quickback might be even better. i've easily carried two bikes in the back of the mini with a bunch of gear inside.

I have a King Joe as well for my Impala...it's top notch IMO.

I have the QB2 on my wife's Mini. Hauled 2 bikes 800 miles and back a couple weeks ago. Worked well. The straps were tight for the first 200 miles, then noticed a wobble. Pulled over, retightened, and all was well for the next 1400 miles. I suspect the straps stretched a little under the initial load.

We just did a 6,000 mile trip with our Allen rack (this one), and it was convenient and secure. It was recommended on this forum, and is less than half the price of the Yakima.
