Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Jersey Material Snagging

My wife bought me a Pearl Izumi Screaming Yellow Jersey for my birthday and the first time I wore it and went on a ride I noticed that there are about half a dozen spots on the front where the fabric is pilled up. Like when nylon gets snagged with a fingernail. Is this typical of this type of fabric? I think the culprit may have been the dry and cracked skin around my fingernails, it is always like this and snags on fabric. I hope the little snags will not grow and reduce the wear like of the jersey.

I don't have this problem, but I usually hand wash my jerseys. Bad things will happen if you throw them in the washing machine with clothes that have zippers, velcro, etc.

The thing is I didn't wash it. I brought it home and wore it for a quick 7 mile ride.
