I know, they're crap, although some go around so far that the outsides of the rims are near your ears:)

you guys should be on Grumpy Old Men. :)

Any of you Melbournites know of a decent 3-day event around Aug/Sept? We've only got one day classics on at that time.

Nah, it's just that some stupid buggers don't like being told that they are stupid buggers. You have to delicately skirt around the issue several times so that you don't bruise their ego. Think of it as a clash of two cultures: ours is blunt and humorously direct, theirs is full of cotton wool and PC bullhype.

ed073 05-24-05 06:53 PM

So I should dry these tears and put that heinous flaming episode down to experience???

Sniff....

climbo 05-24-05 06:55 PM

get in to 'em ed, they hate being told what's right versus what they think or heard someone say once. At least it's entertaining for us.

badsac 05-24-05 06:55 PM

Just tell him he's a w@nker.

ed073 05-24-05 06:57 PM

I'm having the rest of the day off.

Stress leave.

jock 05-24-05 07:25 PM

Hey saccy, christened the shirt today. Seems like the colour scheme catches the eye of the girls pretty well :D Shame my aged and withering body doesn't do it justice :(

badsac 05-24-05 07:38 PM

Ooooo. Great to hear Mucnhie. There's some smokin little ladies that ride around here. Normally they're to cool to even acknowledge poor ol me. If Thylo's flash wares can get me a bit of attention out of some of them then I'll be especially happy. :D

So it didn't fall apart? ;)

Mate, you'll need to take a fly swat with ya :D And no, it doesn't fall apart. If you want that feature (for extra lady thrills!) you'll need to unpick most of the stitching. Unfortunately unravelling clothing might have an undesireable effect in my case, so the stitching is gonna stay intact.

badsac 05-24-05 08:59 PM

All the better spank them with. :D

I must say, my legs got a bit bigger when I did my hill sprints up the Wheelers Hill "wall"

:D

ed073 05-24-05 09:17 PM

Wheelers Hill.....strewth, what a berg.

My pupils get bigger and the number on my HRM gets bigger when it looms ont he horizon.

531Aussie 05-24-05 09:21 PM

did you ever get burning hot feet from a hard day in the Dandenongs when it was warm?

Man, there were days when I was coming home up past the Weelers Hill pub that I expected to find my shoes full of blood!!

Sometimes.

Used to get hot feet out doing hard country miles......like Tawonga gap to Dederang to Porepunkah or something like that.

Rough road vibration + hot weather + hours without getting out of the saddle = hot feet.

At the JCTDU Robbie does most of each stage with his feet on top of his Sidis, squashing the uppers!!

531Aussie 05-24-05 09:28 PM

what, just spinning in the bunch?

how does he get away with that? Because he's great I suppose :)

ed073 05-24-05 09:31 PM

yep....just following wheels while it's piano and some local SA teenager is off the front by 15 minutes.

531Aussie 05-24-05 09:38 PM

while we're at it:

I started a STOOOPID thread on the weekend, and fairdinkum, some Yanks ain't not got no sense o' 'umour! Check out post #5 and #23 (last post)

climbo 05-24-05 09:43 PM

To a septic with no sense of humour you probably are, but don't let that stop you. The world would be a solemn place if we all tiptoed around trying not to upset each other. The dude had just given up smoking if you noticed his signature, he's probably just terminally grumpy.

I recently had a little bout with someone over an attempt at humour - http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=107756. Same thing I expect.

But please, keep your dickery to yourself and yours. This is a family show :D
