What percentage of your rides actually last for 90 minutes?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

An hour is my minimum (intervals right next to the house, or a recovery ride), but it doesn't feel worth the effort unless it's over 90 min. Get out there and ride...

Woot, just completed my first 90+ minute ride, 97 minutes!

I guess that takes my percentage up to... not very many?

My weekend rides are always over 90 minutes as I try to get a lot of miles in during the morning rides. During the weekday though I typically get 50% of my rides over the 90 minute mark. Now that it's already starting to get darker earlier, I'll have a harder time hitting that time on rides after work.

Weekday rides are 60-90 minutes. Weekends are 90-120 minutes or I ride 2 times at 60-90 minutes each. Hard to get away for long with kids and sports.

100% of my rides are over 90 min. Generally I am on my bike for 2-2.5 hrs (even on my "easy" days), and my twice weekly commute is 1.5+ each way (31 mi).

In the past 4 years I've done 290 rides (not including rollers) and 148 of them have been over 90 mins. So, 51% have been. I didn't know it but turns out that's my average time out on the bike. Shhh... don't tell my wife.

All of them. I usually don't bother with anything shorter than 70 miles.

I'd say few of my rides are under 150 minutes. If not closer to 3 hours or frequently more. Sunday club rides. Rarely under 3 hours.

3 hours is a good ride.

why bother dressing up for less.

Coasting. Once in awhile I like to test my limits and be gone the whole day. It's just a matter of numbing your rear quarters.

me too. if i can keep a day completely free on the weekend, all day in good weather is great. especially with ice cream featuring somewhere along the ride.

Well... Todays ride lasted 1:26:05 And I increased my average speed of .3mph In the four rides I've biked that route... that's the least gain I've had from a previous ride. Although I was biking into aa moderate headwind for the first 1/3 of the ride... so who knows how much I could have improved. The important thing though is that I felt real strong the whole ride. I'm anxious to increase my route, but I don't think I've built up a solid enough base yet.
