Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Really? You've seen it all, eh?

OP: You did get screwed. Go back and tell the LBS you want a bike with zero toe overlap. They'll hook you up.

Bee...Effff...Deeee...

Chill the **** out, dude. Based on your original post and response, all the flames you're getting are well deserved.

I ride a 56 frame and have size 9.5 shoes (that's 44 metric) Smaller shoes, bigger frame. Guess what, I also have toe overlap.

If you think larger feet makes frame overlap worse, then you clearly don't understand geometry. Unless your feet are WIDER the overlap will occur at the SAME turning angle - having bigger feet will affect WHERE it contacts your foot.

One thing that will help is to shift the cleats to the inside of the shoe, but this increases Q - but I'm sure you already knew this as you did so much research.....

I have big feet (46.5 in SIDIs) and have pretty bad toe-overlap on my cross bike too. But I think it's b/c of the 45mm aluminum fenders...

I hope this is a joke.

FWIW,(nothing), I've never had toe overlap on any of my bikes, and my feet are size 13. I do, however, ride 62-64cm frames.

Oh snap! So you think your 15.5mph average is awesome?! My average is about 17.2 mph and I have only been riding for two months....a few weeks consistantly. This must mean I am just that awesome. Damn, i guess I will go pro in a few weeks.

I heart this thread <3

The new Di2-Red/11 crankset can be ordered with 150mm crank arms. With the shorter crank arm, this should pull your feet back away from the front wheel, and thus should help with the toe overlap. Just make sure you order the full ceramic eccentric bottom bracket with it, because I hear the steel ones were not designed to fit English threaded BBs, only Italian threads.

Call Andy at Competitive Cyclist, these aren't listed on the website, special order only.

But then you would need to get the cobbler mentioned earlier to modify your cleat placement.

I believe my local cobbler shares a storefront with the blacksmith and candlestick maker.
