expensive gloves are like shots of expensive tequila
I once ordered a thirty-five dollar shot of tequila, just to check it out. What a waste. To me, it tasted the same as a five dollar shot of tequila. In other words, they both taste like battery acid.
And every time I buy an expensive pair of cycling gloves I regret it. I can never figure out why they sell for so much money. For example, the Giro Luso gloves sell for over $60.00.
I always come back to the Performance terry gloves, which sell for about $9.00. They're comfortable, never wear out and they're cheap.
Why do people buy expensive gloves? I don't get it.

Mine were 20 bucks on sale from 30, my old ones I bought at a LBS for 20 not on sale, and the new ones are much more comfortable (more padding for the center area of my hand) and have a cool "shark skin" top part that keeps the top of my hand feeling like it's actually getting air.
I wouldn't spend over 30 dollars though, they all look just the same as the 20-30$ ones. 60 is pushing it considering I hear a lot start to fall apart quickly based off reviews I was reading.

Ironclad gloves are what I wear. https://www.ironclad.com/www/category.jsp?catID=1
I have a pair of Tac-ops for cold weather and Mach-5 for short finger gloves. If they're tough enough for construction then, hey, they're more than enough for cycling. And the sweat wipe is great too.

First:
>every time I buy an expensive pair of cycling gloves I regret it<
Then:
>Why do people buy expensive gloves? I don't get it.<
If you don't know why you keep spending the big bucks on gloves, why think anyone here could help you?
Considering what I spent purchasing my bike, I'm not about to go cheap on gloves. Still, one has to draw the limits somewhere, I suppose. So, while I'd enjoy owning Rapha's $160 Grand Tour gloves, I'm passing.

You spent $35 on a shot of tequila and are *****ing about gloves as well.
You deserve to be mocked...consider yourself mocked.

I love it when the articles I'm wearing are worth more than the bike I'm riding.
It's a paradigm shift.
The bike becomes merely a conduit to the world through which I can broadcast my beauty and my awesomeness.
