Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Winter Bike Maintenance

It's my first year with a Road bike and I don't want winter to come at all, but living in Colorado you kind of have to accept it. Luckily I built a winter commuter and still have my Mtn. Bike. However, I have a couple questions about what to do with the Road.

1. Is there anything I should do with it maintenance side since it is going to be just hanging out in the house for a few months without any use?

2. Is it better to get a full tune up before or after the bike goes into "hibernation"?

Thanks Everyone!

846 miles that I've put on it since I got it in April, but it is a used bike. It's 8 years old.

make sure everything is well lubed before you hang it up, get any dirt off of it and try and keep it someplace that is moisture free, thats about it. tune-up in the spring not now.
