Wheel help
had my front wheel off and i cant get the rod that goes through the wheel back in,
Those are the parts
when i put it in and tighten it the rod keeps goign through the other nut,
could it have anything to do with the way the little spring things go on?

You have the spring backwards in the middle picture & correct in the last picture. It's called a "quick release skewer". The springs keep the skewer centered so it's easier to get the wheel installed. When the spring is backwards, it won't work and will get in the way of the fork tips or fork dropouts (front wheel) or rear dropouts (rear wheel)

when i put the spring that way the rod still sticks out the other end of the nut, and the quick release thign doesnt tighten the wheel on the fork.

But keep in mid that in the picture you don't have the wheel in the dropouts of the fork, so that will probably take up the rest of the slack and prevent it from extending out.

1) Put 1 spring on skewer the correct way.
2) Insert skewer through axle
3) Put 2nd spring on correctly
4) Screw on Quick Release nut 4-5 turns
5) Insert Wheel onto bike
6) Turn QR Nut until it contacts the fork tips.
7) Try to tighten QR lever by flipping closed, NOT screwing tighter
8) Adjust QR Nut until lever closes tightly.

also, remember that the rear skewer is longer than the front.
