Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

White garage doors do seem to be an American requirement. That is not the same as universal.
you mean the world doesn't revolve around America? What are you, some kind of Aussie or something?

Then I'm there

Regular black Marks and Spencer's socks, the Trek 1000 of the sock world.

So, no need to mention the Performance Cyclist jerseys, basic Giro helmet, or voracious apetite for full kit Poseurs.

but, but, but I can't balance on a unicycle. Oh my mobile laz-e-boys have hardshell seats instead of mesh hammocks.

I know it's a very strange concept for a 'Merican to grasp. The universe doesn't revolve around America. Not now and not for a long time.

LOL

I'm getting more Fredly by the minute. I got a bar end mirror the other day and I actually really like it. It was so windy today I couldn't hear anything but I did see the guy on my 6 get a flat and pull over. If I didn't have the mirror I'd still be looking for him.

I cant maintain speed and get up to speed without being clipped in for durations longer than a sole sprint. One leg pulls while the other pushes... doesn't really work to well in the mud though...

I use cleats + clipless pedals when I ride just 3 miles to campus and 3 miles back. Only until I can get some toe clips though.
