I got my Oakley's with the 50% off Government discount.
The optics are much better and the glasses are much lighter than the $10 - $20 pairs I've had in the past. I would not buy these for $100, but for $50, I would recommend it to others and buy them again. |
I ride with Oakley Radars and love Oakley optics and their products.. I agree with the earlier post, you should definitely get eyewear that fits your face no matter what brand. Key if proper fit and good lenses and you'll be satisfied!

Oakley hooked up those 33 Chilean miners with free shades. Not sure with model exactly, maybe Radar.

I love my Oakley Oil Drums, but I recently shredded the lenses on them and they don't make them any more so I need to find out how I can get new ones.
I think a pair of Oakleys is worth about 100$. I don't think 200$. I paid 140$ for my ray-bans and was happy, a good pair of sunglasses is worth the money. |

I have 2 pairs of Tifosi. Best as I can tell the optics are excellent, frames are durable and warranty is good. Unless the Tifosi dont fit you I cant see any good reason to pay the price for Oakley, and yes I have owned Oakley in the past.

I even wear Oakleys for my reading glasses. |
I have had many pairs of both.
For cycling I always wear my Tifosi with the high speed red adjustable lens there is no better lens. I like it better than any of the Oakley lenses for road riding. The Tifosi frames are definitely cheaper quality but they are comfortable and seem to last me a few years. Tifoso service and warranty is awesome to say the least. My sister gets a free pair of glasses every year at her work and she has given the voucher to me many times. I always get the most expensive (under $500) Oakley's I can. I am currently wearing the X squared Polarized. The Oakley lens quality is very nice but for road riding I feel the tifosi high speed red is better than anything Oakley has to offer. Oakley warranty's and customer service is fair to crappy to say the least. The frame quality and styling of Oakley is far superior to the Tifosi's and that is why they are so popular. They just look cool. All that being said if you want great quality frames with great optics, poor support and can afford them get the Oakley's. If you want the best road riding lenses out with OK Frames and excellent support at a fair price get the Tifosi's |
You don't sound very Fred to me "Fred".
