Scott Speedster S50
p0s! I bought my first bike in March and yesterday I found two cracks on the head tube. I don't know the whole process with the warranty. Will the bike shop I bought it from send it back or will I have to do it all myself?

Typically, you get a new frame but have to pay for the transfer of the components if you've owned it for more than one year. If it's less than a year old, some manufacturers will pay for the transfer. I'm not sure what Scott's warranty is.

My Specialized was 7 months old. LBS said Specialized paid for the frame (with a free upgrade from a Roubaix Elite to a Roubaix Pro frameset), but that the LBS had to eat the cost of transferring components. YMMV

So what do you do if the manufacture replaces the frame with a frame of a different color and you don't like the color?
I've expressed my concern with my LBS and he's called them and left a message, but he doesn't think they will do anything about it.

Cannondale looks Awesome with the red lettering and black wheels. The 2010 speedster is just too white for me, I would change the wheels, seat and handlebar tape to a different color. Just looks too "princessy" to me. Dont get me wrong, I do like white bikes alot, but would prefer a mix of colors.

OP - how were you liking the Scott up unitl the issue with the head tube? I am looking at getting the 2009 S30 for the 105 component group instead of the 2010 Tiagra mix they went to. The white would grow on you I think.

I love it. But the only other road bike been on is a old OLD steel bike. Mine has the crappy components so the LBS had to do alot of adjustment to get the shifting right. And I had to do alot of adjustments with the seat that it comes with.
My LBS was like you should ride this one and then try out a bike with the dura ace components on it. I said no because I didn't want to spoil myself. In my mind, if I don't know about the better components then I won't spend the money I don't have on them.
